SETTINGS FOR RUMMIKUB

Hello,

I recently purchased the G8 timer and I would like to use it when playing Rummikub. I'd like it to do a count down (say 2 minutes) for each player. When a player presses the button, it'll start a FRESH countdown of 2 minutes each time.

Can this device do this desired task?
Thanks for your assistance!

Micah

Hi Micah,

No problem.

Go to mode 1 and select the number of players desired.

Go to mode 2 and select a max. total time for all your turns. This will be the same for all players. By your description this is not critical, however a time must be set here so just save 9 hours for simplicity. To handicap players change their individual total times in mode 3.

Now the solution;
Mode 4. Enter 2 minutes as the individual max turn time and that should do it. This can be altered in Mode 5 for individual handicaps.

Other options;
In Mode 7 set the amount of warning you want before a player's time runs out. Default is 5 seconds warning with both the LED and sound options turned on.

Go to mode 8 and select A or B by pressing the + key and then press the CLOCK key to save all your initial settings for future games.

Select Mode 9 and set a pause to occur between turns. This is optional and by default zero time is set. Remember that if a delay is set that it can be over ridden by simply pressing the big blue key which will immediately start the selected player's time.

Play
Go to Mode 0 and start your game, but press the - key for minutes or seconds display of your turn time of 2 minutes in the large digits.

Hope this helps!. If you need any further help please e-mail or just call (304)723 4553.

PS; When you begin the next Rummikub game just turn the G8 on and select Mode 8. (Actually the G8 always starts in Mode 8 to make this easier). Press the + key to select either memory A or B where you saved your initial settings. Just press the blue key and all the data will be copied to the game memory. Now press the Mode key to select Mode 0 and the - key again to show the 2 minutes in the large digits and you are ready to go. Press the blue key to start.
