G8 GameTimer Review by Games Magazine Page 72, February '03

by John J. McCallion

Left yawning by long lulls between turns? Aggravated by ambitious analysts? Here's the answer for folks who have been too polite to reprimand slow opponents during multiplayer strategy games.

Time limits of up to 10 hours can be set for one to eight players, with variable settings for individual players to facilitate handicaps. You can also specify a maximum time per turn, and activate warnings as the end of a time limit nears. The large numbers on the timer clearly indicate a player's remaining time.

The G8 game timer is, in many ways, more useful than the standard chess clock. It's truly the ideal antidote to those frustrating competitors who take too long to complete their turns in complex strategy games.

Be prepared to invest some time learning the mechanism's many options - a small price to pay for the ample reward of the extra games you'll get to play in an evening.
